SEE your telegram No. 174 of the 25th October. Reported loan for currency purposes.
Mr. Addis has received information that the Board of Finance and the United States Minister in Peking have signed a memorandum for a loan of 50,000,000 dollars gold, for currency requirements, at an optional interest of between 44 and 5, for a term of forty-five years, the security to be li-kin, &c. This information has been given to Mr. Addis in confidenec by a representative of the American group.
